On Good News

The LORD your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing. Zephaniah 3:17

Good news abounds today –

It pulls the plug on all the bad news we tell ourselves about what we have to do and say and be to be acceptable to God. It undoes all our striving and getting good

The good news today is:

God’s love.

See He loves the very sight of you,

the sound of your voice,

the shape of your being.

Even before you open your eyes – you make Him glad, you bring Him glory by being you.

Because He is within you and Jesus flows on out of you even when you’re not looking or even trying.

And He’s so happy you are His – there’s never been a moments regret.

He moved heaven and earth to save you and there’s no talking Him out of it, it can’t be undone. His heart is set.

He calls you beloved. He calls you friend. Your name is written on His hands.

Straightening up, Jesus said to her, “Woman, where are they? Did no one condemn you?” She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said, “I do not condemn you, either. – – – – John 8:10-11

Because Jesus didn’t come to condemn us, nor to point the finger or to set rules and regulations ~

He came to love us, to bring God’s enormous unfathomable love out of heaven ~ to us.

And today you have Jesus and all of heaven cheering you on. Calling your name, rejoicing over you.  He’s amazed at your courage, amazed at what you do, amazed at your getting back up and your not giving in. Delighted in your faith – yes that small amount of it you think you have. He doesn’t miss a thing.

There’s no work involved when it comes to His love, no performance review, no “you should have by now”, no “oh not you again”, no disappointed head shaking.

Just grace upon grace upon grace (John 1:16)

Just us believing and this love running fast towards us.

You’re more than your hands do. You’re more than your hands have. You’re more than how other hands measure you. You are what is written on God’s Hands: Safe. Held. His. Beloved  Ann Voskamp

How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion,”Your God reigns!” Isaiah 52:7

Good news abounds today

And it’s all about God’s love.

Tell Your Story

You know we all have amazing stories to tell  – yes YOU and I.

We all have real, true, vulnerable, pointy edged stories that have been coloured and cushioned by the grace and presence of God.

So lets share them.

Once a month I would like to open up Women Connect to you and your stories.  They can be about who you are, where you have come from or about where you are now, thoughts about an experience, an answer, a scripture, how you met Jesus or just what God brought to mind last Tuesday when you were hanging out the washing- anything from the heart because your story will encourage others in theirs.

“When we learn to tell our stories to one another we not only understand ourselves better, but we become gracious and kind listeners to others. We become gifts to the world around us, no matter how small or big we are.” Ashley Hales ~ Circling the Story

So please give it some thought. I’m no expert but I’m happy to help if you’re not sure where to start or how to put your thoughts together. It doesn’t have to be long – short and simple is fine with me but if you want to make it longer I’d suggest a maximum of 1000 words.

So please send me an email to let me know you’re interested and get those stories happening.
