Christ Our Peace

For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility. Ephesians 2:14

Christ, Himself, our peace.

Who isn’t a long way off or distant but who has come and made His home with us. Within my heart and yours. Who calls us His friends, His beloved, His own.

Christ himself who crossed the great divide. Who made a way when we had no way. No way to reach God. No way to make ourselves right.

Christ our way maker.

Christ poured out and us washed clean.

Christ our wholeness even when everything looks broken. The breaker of our brokenness.

Christ our fullness when we come face to face with our emptiness.

Christ our completeness even when all we see is how unfinished we are.

Christ our strength when we are without.

And Christ our peace when we are at war with ourselves, our own worst enemies, ready to take ourselves out. We know every reason why God should stop loving us, why He should discard us: – our wrong not rightable, our brokenness too much, our story flawed, our journey sordid, our love too little, our faith too small, our courage too slim.

Yet none of it matters because God sees Christ poured out and us washed clean.

God sees His own. His beloved

“ And Jesus claims exactly these who are wandering and wondering and wounded and worn out as His. He grafts you into His line and His story and His heart and He gives you His name, His lineage, His righteousness. He graces you with plain grace” The Greatest Gift – Ann Voskamp

Love to you all today
